A look at the PWS workshop of February 2020



Sylvia Hofflund....

Sylvia is able to produce remarkably delicate and beautiful paintings in watercolour, and she is often busy handling commissions in illustrative work.

To sum up her approach in a few words is difficult, but note the subtle graduations in the strength of colours, especially noticeable in the shadows of the far right picture above. Generally, she will put on colours in a layered way, starting with light washes...

We were invited to try her techniques as best we could with some natural objects....
